Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your MysMatch account (the MysMatch app for iOS and Android) and what happens to your data.

1. Delete your account in the app

1. Open the MysMatch app and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab and tap Ownership.
3. Tap your account card, tell us briefly why you're leaving (at least 5 words), then tap Delete my account and confirm.

Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. If you sign in again during those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled and your account is restored.

2. Request deletion by email

If you can't use the app, or you manage an organization account, email contact@mys-match.com from the email address of your MysMatch account with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

• Your profile: name, photos, university, major, semester, bio and preferences
• Your login credentials (email address and phone number)
• Your event registrations and any documents you uploaded for events
• Your job applications and uploaded CVs
• If you own an organization: its page, events, job postings and perks

After deletion your profile is anonymized: other users see you only as a “Deleted account”.

4. What is kept, and for how long

• Messages you sent stay in the other person’s conversation so their chat history remains intact. They are shown as coming from a “Deleted account” and are no longer linked to you.
• Safety retention: messages, conversations or profiles connected to a report or a block are kept in full for 60 days from that report or block, to investigate abuse and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. After that, the rules above apply.
• Crash reports are deleted after 90 days; analytics data is anonymized after 12 months.
• Data we are required to keep by law may be kept for longer.
